Am I missing something here? Is the Fantic a speck on the hill in the background? Is it on the jetty? Or perhaps under the jetty acting as an anchor?

Hi all. If anyone has any TL250 parts or knows of anyone with parts please let me know. I know that Greg has lots of parts but just looking around.

Well Twinshock and Classic Trials are very much alive and well in Queensland! Western District Trials Club have hosted another Brilliant Twinshock Masters Trial again complete with Challenging sections and the biggest Open Twinshock Class I have seen! Thankyou to everyone involved.

The ITALIAN Theme was well supported with 10 Twinshock Machines! Just quietly, some of them performing very well.

Mark K, You know I would not lead anyone astray, the Fantic Testarossa was behind Jorja all the time.

Here is something we don't see very often, an ITALJET SCOTT competing at a Trial ! Nice work Chippy!

Personally I have not had much to do with ITALIAN bikes and it was really good to see so many at one place and competing! VIVA ITALIA!

Over the years I have ridden a few different bikes at Conondale, it is always interesting checking the bikes and seeing what is popular and who likes what. After trying my TLR and 213 Alpina, I decided in 2010 to have a go on the more nimble Little Yellow Beastie TY175B. When I turned up, it seemed everyone had Something RED HOT and Throbbing between their legs! HONDA four stroke was certainly the bike of choice that year!

The following year 2011, David Lahey suggested we see how many Bultacos we could round up. So I made a bit of an effort to compete on my M49, I had to borrow a couple of odds and ends to make it happen. Definitely worth the effort as Bultaco have a big following and are quite nice to ride.

2012 came around and I can't remember who came up with the idea, but Kawasaki was suggested and the FrankenKT mission was moved to the top of the list. Parts came from several directions and the Green Japanese Theme came to fruition! During our line them up against the wall and shoot, just after riders briefing a certain Fantic rider kept photobombing with a what about me grin from ear to ear.

This led into the ITALIAN Theme for 2013!

So to summarise, it seems Post Classic bikes are Japanese or Spanish and the minority Italian. The pattern that has emerged is:

2010 Japanese HONDA

2011 Spanish BULTACO

2012 Japanese KAWASAKI

2013 ITALIAN : SWM, ITALJET and FANTIC to be fair to everyone!

Now my thoughts are:

2014 Spanish, so either MONTESA or OSSA? Either suits me as I don't have an OSSA or a MONTESA that go.

Well Mark K has an OSSA MAR that he ALMOST rode at Conondale so maybe if OSSA was the theme then it would motivating for Mark to ride it

It would also be motivating for me to get my OSSA out and fit some tyres to it

I do know that there are a few others out there with an OSSA or two tucked away, and I've also seen a couple on trailers in the last couple of years. With a bit of encouragement we might be able to get a few in the same place at the same time. And naturally since I'm the proud owner of one (the prettiest bike I've ever owned) my vote has to go for that option.

I'd suggest GREEN SPANISH but OSSAs that weren't MARs came in other colours too, so instead I'll practice my alliteration....

Is MONTESA in or out?
SPANISH reunion or exclusively OSSA?

I've been restoring a M138 Alpina (1975 Bultaco 350) for about 15 years. I did the wheels, forks, tank, airbox, sidecovers, seat and motor rebuild over the years and a few days ago I finally got it running well with a new Mikuni carby, and am now doing the remaining cosmetic work, which includes repainting the frame. I pulled the bike apart yesterday. Today I had a close look at the frame and found a few things needing attention and took some photos:

Slight twist of the headstock away from vertical
Cracked steering stop
Cracked frame where the left footpeg mount attaches
Cracked frame from a rock gouge under the engine
Bent up frame tubes under the engine
Buckled steering head gussets

It's a fairly bizarre frame design, with deliberate dents made in the frame members to make space for the swingarm pivot and the airbox outlet pipe
