Hi Everyone,

Managed to get my Bultaco confiscated!!!!!!

In an effort to stimulate interest in trials, I am always looking for new people to ride with and new places to ride. However, sometimes this gets me into trouble, (been known to use esculators and think this would be a great never-ending hillclimb). Anyway I found the Worlds Smallest Motorcycle Muesum and thought I would check it out, talk about not happy Juan! He decided to keep my bike, hopefully only for a while, time will tell.

Yes David, there are lots of things Jorja is not sure about, when are we going swimming, can I have a pat, is it dinner time yet, where are you going, am I coming, where are we going, can you rub my belly, is it dinner time yet?

Hi Everyone,

Yes Andrew, it was a good ride and interesting for me as I was one of the youngest! The sausage sizzle lunch is good for everyone to meet and discuss bikes, riding and the plan for the ride, so everyone is on the same page. Always interesting talking to any trials rider young or old and getting their ideas and stories. About you being sore after the ride is good, because it means I gave you a bit of a workout, I noticed you were wearing the trials smile all day! I find the best way to avoid being sore after a ride, is to ride more regularly.

Hi everyone,

Indecisions, I am still undecided about which bike to ride in Queensland titles? Do I ride my brand new SHERCO which is an absolute joy to ride or do I have another go at twinshock? The last two years, I competed in twinshock which was great fun and very competitive and no Venables! Last year it was a 1,2,3 for TLR`s with Tony Bax, myself and Jamie Isherwood in third, could I go one better this year?????

Andrew, it sounds like you have a bent shock which is not uncommon. Bring the bike down and I will straighten the shock for you, I have straightened quite a few before with pretty good success, as most old bikes have been dropped once or seventeen times! If you like we have some more people coming for a ride on sunday (usual format) worst case senario, I have a selection of second hand shocks you can borrow.

Thanks for the offer we have visitors this weekend and I have several other issues to attend to with the bike - the erratic idle and difficult starting was I think caused by retarted timing ie: over heating so I need to check that and then check for damage.

I'll let you know when I am mobile again.

I suppose a few people will remember that old advertising campain which probably wouldn`t comply nowadays with political corectness! (Get something red hot and throbbing between your legs!)__________________________________ Well, it has taken me some time, but finally, I think I have worked out what it means! Heavy Old Non Directional Appendage or Honda for short! Hold On Now Don`t Assume that I don`t like Honda`s as when I include the mini bikes, they are the most prolific make in my bike shed.

Just thought I would share my latest aquision which is a TL250 in working order, but certainly needs some work for $300.00. This is the second time I have owned this bike, the first time it was living under a tarp at the back of a beachfront house north of Coffs with the exhaust rusted away. The owner had an exhaust off a CT200 and a box of odd bits, all for $350.00. A few hours were spent repairing the exhaust and getting it all working. A couple of rides to fine tune a few things and I sold it to a young bloke to learn how to ride. This wouldn`t be my first choice for a learner, however he was pretty strong and the asking price of $500.00 was within the reach of a schoolboy. Well the TL got heaps of use until he updated to another one of my old bikes, a TY250R.

I have spent a few nights tidying up the TL and Basket Cases have provided me with a tank, seat, air cleaner, guards, levers, front wheel and tyres, like I said (heaps of use) At least I taught him to clean the air filter and change the oil, the motor is a little smokey but still pulls strong. Now I have a choice of three different makes of 250 loan bikes

I guess if one of your riding buddies has been really naughty you have just the bike for them to pay their debt to society by going for a ride through a few trials sections.
Jokes aside they were, and still are, fabulous bikes to use for trail riding and some people do enjoy riding them in trials.

Hi Everyone,

Just sharing another bike which I have had for a while not going and incomplete. The story goes something like this, a bloke I know got a TL 125S brand new for his 13th Birthday and over the years got quite a bit of use. Some years later the bike received a top end re-build and somehow the header pipe, carby, ignition and a box of parts were never fitted to the bike to complete the re-build. During a move, the box with all the bits got misplaced and left the bike incomplete. Recently Peter gave me the bike, yes gave and wouldn't take any money! He explained that he would like me to get the bike going and line it up with a young rider and the bike to be ridden. It has taken me some time to source the parts I needed and didn't have in Basket Cases. I am happy to say that with the help of a motorcycle mechanic mate, the bike lives and is fairly strong for a TL 125. So Peter, I am happy to say the bike is on a semi-permanent loan to a schoolboy to refine his riding skills, and have already received three separate reports on progress over the long weekend, all good! The Qld Titles was an excellent event with a really good selection of sections to test everyone in multiple ways! Riding the Sherco is less physical than twinshocks and veterans is very competitive! As funny as it sounds, I am not old enough to be a good veteran with the veneables system! However, I did keep a close eye on Post Classic and I guess we will never know if I could have squeezed out Graham Weiss and his much loved Bultaco Sherpa T to make it 1,2,3 for TLR's. Or to challenge Tony Bax to a ride-off with him only dropping 1 point all weekend (very impressive) but second to Jamie Isherwood on 0, that's nine laps over two days and 81 sections with no points lost!! Well done Jamie! All we need now is for Tony and Jamie to ride the "C" grade line on TY's at the TY Challenge?????
