These elbows are the closest I can find for the gauge on the fuel tank and you need rubber gromets to fit them petrol resistant.

Re: My Montesa 349 Project
Will be dragging this out from under the dust in a few months to finish it off I've had a lot of projects on over the last few years and I've had to be patient to get through them 3 cars rust removed and painted many mechanical repairs so I am looking forward to getting her out again.
These fit the 349 tanks perfectly.

Now I got the grommets from south west montesa but seems his site has gone so try buying petrol and oil grommet and if that doesn't work possibly one from a bong shop in Nimbi might be suitable or might not be. With oil in resin I imagine the rubber grommets might be compatible with oils hence compatible with petrol. Worth a try if you can't find correct size next option is to go up in size and drill to suit or get a brass barb made to suit.

Another would be Don Newell in Brisbane
There is a difference. The outlet comes out the side pointing to the rear, not the bottom, in order to avoid the engine brace. Zoom in on the photo. Fuel line not fitted.
Billy what is the distance from the ring around the M to your gear lever inside edge. Does anyone know if the 349 cota were put together with copper seals or rubber seals on the crankcase bolts when new?
I not happy with the gear selector mechanism on mine in the primary drive case and I want to be sure its correct. Had to pull the magneto side off again as I forgot the locking washer. There is only one left handed locking washer on the bike and I found it in my tin of left over parts.
THEY WERE PUT TOGETHER WITH THIN GASKET PAPER/CARDBOARD THE CASINGS.
the 349 1979 and 1980 models are set up differently with the gear selector the spacer at the back is fitted differently as one model sits a different space from the casing to the otherI think the 1979 is closer just not sure.

Re: My Montesa 349 Project
My fuel taps I got from Vintage Dirt Bikes but he retired and sold his buisness name to a M/C wrecker. for fuel taps also southwest montesa should have the correct tap. might even have one just unsure.
