Re: Basket Cases YAMAHA TO 250 PARTS

Hi Everyone,
David, Yes I am not complaining, my thinking is the more parts I have available to swap, the greater the chance I will end up with what I need for other projects!
Anyone chasing parts?[attachment=0]IMGP7986.JPG[/attachment,

The only thing that remains defective on my little orange beasty is the nut that holds the handlebars.Greg Harding wrote: ..... my thinking is the more parts I have available to swap, the greater the chance I will end up with what I need .....
Is there anything that can be swapped to solve that?

Re: Basket Cases
Well Mark if you take the nut that holds the handle bars off and throw it away then go down to your local nut shop and ask for a replacement nut which I am sure they will have one for you. Failing that you could stop riding the little orange beasty and start riding the very nice white and green shiny beasty then all will be well in the world once again. Graham.
Re: Basket Cases
Hi everyone,
Greg, you have this uncanny nack of being at the "right place at the right time". You have scored well. Mark and Graham, I have been to the bolt shop many times and I am still yet to find the "perfect nut"!! Yes Mark, you need to start riding the green and white beasty more to get ready for Conondale this year as we are having the Ossa theme this year. I am in the process of building up a 350 MAR and does anyone have a Kawasaki KT250 carby as I don't have a carby as yet? An original rear muffler would be good in any condition. Also I am after an MAR tank as I could do with a better one. I have a few explorer tanks, but they are not quite the same. Like Greg with his plethora of Yamaha parts, I have spare Ossa parts, but I do need other parts to complete projects. I do have spare frames and wheels.

Re: Basket Cases GOES NUTS
Hi Everyone,
Mark, Graham and Chippy,
You blokes in the Big Smoke have got it pretty good, not only do you have a specialist BOLT shop but you have a specialist NUT shop as well ! Is that the place to go when dealing with a NUTJOB, are the aisles full of NUT CASES
Here in the country I had to plant a tree, wait Seven years before we got any nuts and after another Three years, they are still not the right NUTS!
Macadamia integrifolia or
NUT might have been the wrong choice now that I have had time to think about it?

I know that lots of people call those nice round hard cased rainforest bushtucker things Queensland nuts, but many of the lovely people of Maryborough, Queensland have an even better name - Bauple nuts (pronounced Bopple)
Greg are you saying you grew the wrong type of Macadamia tree? Don't feel too disheartened, I've been growing the "right" macadamia for 19 years here and still haven't got any decent tucker from it yet

Ahhh such wonderful energetic youthful exuberance! The defective nut I was referring to has been growing for well over 57 years. Sadly lack of immaturity bears no relationship to skill, talent, or even basic ability.David Lahey wrote:..... For what it might be worth, the pretty green bike refered to in several posts above was named by my adoring offspring. They christened it "Dorian Green and Gray". It comes with the dire warning that even though it is pretty as a picture, and might be a source of great pleasure, it will be a constant reminder that no matter how old it gets, I will always be older and uglier than it will ever be.

Hi Everyone,
David, I seem to remember that not all Macadamia trees will produce Nuts, for some reason only a grafted variety will. Not sure if you can Graft a 19 year old tree?

Re: Basket Cases
Hello everyone,
We are getting a bit off track here from basket cases with these "nuts". However I did see a van the other day with a few "youths" in it and the large and only sticker I saw on the rear window was "MIXED NUTS". That sort of says it all!!!!
On another note, I am progressing in small increments on the
MAR 350. I have also just had the
KT tank and side covers painted, just in time for the Queensland Titles this weekend. A very big thank you to those who painted it for me (you know who you are).
