Interchangeable parts for TY175

Hello, I would like to ask the learned gentlemen and women a question that has popped up when trying to find parts for my TY.

Are other Yamaha 175 parts interchangeable? eg, AG175, DT175, IT175 any others?

I mean is an IT 175 fork tube interchangeable?

With or without a little mod here or there, do other bike parts fit. I remember someone modified a DT175? engine cover for example.

Don, the AG is out, as they are based on the earlier series, however some bits off the DT175C/D and IT175D (first model), and also the YZ125B/C/D I think.

I did compare bits off a DT175C I have, there is a some commonality, but a lot of differences, eg clutch, flywheel, crank tapers, cases, but surprisingly the porting and piston are common, but barrel is bigger finned. Only bit worth swapping was the bigger 24mm carb that needs to be rejetted. Fork lower legs are different, similar springs, different internals slightly. All else was bigger and heavier. A future resto project!

Seen that others swap the RHS case cover to the YZ one when the oil pump is removed, with some adjustment.

Hi everybody.

I have just purchased another 2 TY's as parts bikes. I'm looking to make one go again and need a new airbox to carby inlet pipe. They are apparently NLA. Is there any other bikes etc, that I can get the pipe from and be on my way to going again?
