G'day
I had the pleasure of upgrading my bike recently and am loving riding the 2011 Gasser 300! I have a question about the fuel/oil mix to run in the bike. Some experienced people whom I respect greatly have said to run 100:1 but the Gas Gas manual for this model says 50:1.
So what is the best ratio?
Regards
Gary T.

50:1 will leave you with a really well lubricated motor.....and a @#$% load of combustion chamber deposits, clogged up middlebox and final exhaust pipe perforations, and over time a dramatic drop in performance as these deposits build up, block up everything, and a loss of the expansion chamber effect that helps scavange exhaust gasses.
My recommendation is 100:1, and I preface that with a good oil like GRO OFF ROAD 1, and for "trials use".
If you are going to hold it pinned for long periods of time (fast trail riding) in 40 degree heat than slide it up to 80:1
No need for 50:1 under any circumstances.
I have had experience looking at a lot of trials motors over the years, and the biggest cause of performance degradation over time is TOO MUCH OIL!

Thanks Paul. I shall DEFINITELY rely on your experience (and others) regardless of what the manual says.
Have I mentioned how much I am loving the Gasser?
