Wandering Tyre

Good Evening.
Have wandering tyre problems on my Greeves.
Ripped another valve, on the front tube.
Rim lock, good quality and correct size, One on the front, two on the back.
Both newish IRC's on original type deep valance, alloy rims.
6 psi on front, 4 on rear.
Must be the 12 hp, the old Villiers motor produces.
Read David L's comments on his post. think it involves reshaping in inside ribs ?

Check if the IRC's are tubed type or tubeless (it is written on the side wall). I know the importer in Australia bought in both types.
We only sold the Tube Type at The Hell Team, but there is tubeless ones around and the edge construction is different.

I know it's a bit drastic, but back in the day it was not unusual to drill and fit self-tappers around the rim penetrating into the tyre bead. Wouldn't recommend it now though... particularly with 12hp of Villiers volition!

Will look at the Tyre. About to put in new tube.
Think I may have put self tappers in my old James Trials Rims.

Good Evening.
Update. Tyres tube type.
Gave the rim and bead lock a buff up with small wire wheel on cordless.
New heavy duty Dunlop tube much, much thicker than old one.
Years ago i bought Front/Rear trials tyres with tubes, add was in 'Just Bikes'
$100, free postage for the lot. The tubes were very thin, and I fitted them to the Greeves.
They would have made a great road tyres, and could be used, but to hard for Trials, especially on wet rocks.
They had NO grip, so put IRC tyres on. May have used old tubes.
Anyway all done. Will keep an eye on the valve movement.

Added to Villiers Services, soft compound trials shoes, stops real good, even when wet.

What lubricant are you putting the tyres in the rims with? Sometimes if it too slippery and you don’t clean it off nothing will stop the tyre spinning in rim.
