Sourcing Talon dished sprocket for TY250, 1974

Post by Sharkie86 »

Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone knows where to purchase talon dished sprockets for a 74 TY250 in Australia? I remember I got some about ten years ago when my old bike was restored by a guy I knew but he has moved to TAS and I lost contact with him unfortunately.

I saw there are some in UK at Trails and Trials that look good but was hoping to avoid shipping costs.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Regards

I have bought them from B&J Racing in the US.

Don't know of anywhere in AUS.

If anyone knows it will be David Lahey.

Alastair.

Try John Titman Racing in Qld. You'll find on Google. He is a Talon agent and has been for many years. I used ti ride speedway with him.

If TALON still make them, you should be able to get them through Australian motorbike shops.
I bought a TALON TY250 rear sprocket in the 1990s through the local Yamaha shop but sent it back because it had too much dish.
Best source I've found for TY250 dished rears are from PBI (Chris Products) in the USA. I'll post a photo when my phone decides it's ready to upload the photos to the cloud

I did chance upon a 520 talon 44 dished rear 10 front set recently. Seems pretty much brand new.

Was here in Aus from a guy breaking down a bike selling on eBay.

Looks to me like the set sold by TYTrials in the UK. Currently out of stock.

I'm happy with it, though the chain does seem to pass precariously close to the swingarm.

Worth checking with TYTrials if they are due back in stock.
