Airleaks, Rimsbands, Spokes and Tyres....pissst......

Hi all,
Just discovered I’ve air p**sing out of the spoke adjuster nipples after using soapie water all over the rear wheel. About 10 of the nipples are leaking bad.
So I can only assume I have a problem with the rim band?
So here’s the questions.
1. Is the Rim Band on these wheels the same as on the MX bikes, or do I need something special?
2. While I’m in there, would it be advisable to change anything else…vales, blocks etc etc…
3. I can even see air escaping from the thread. where the spoke screws into the nipple. What do I do to stop that?
4. What is the best process for fitting a new band?
5. Am I going to get a “ton of trouble” removing and refitting the tyre? Is this stuff best left the Pro’s at the MX shop? And save myself the cost of the tyre levers too.
Ok with this techo stuff out of the way, here's the crazy bit…...(life would not be the same without a crazy bit from Neo
).
I have two spare new tyres waiting to be fitted. One front and one rear. I’ve been putting off fitting the rear one, because the tread on the rear is still about 6mm deep (as apposed to 12mm new). And because I very rarely ride on loose/slippery surfaces I thought the reduced grip would force me to improve my skills somewhat.
So what would you recommend ….change the rear tyre while I’m in there, or stick with the fun of the old one?
Best of balance.
