'94 Beta Techno developed an engine knock/rattle which can be felt through the frame. Gets worse under load. Is not too loud but it wasn't ridden far afterwards. It isn't a major knock that I would expect from a big end. Possible crank bearing? Don't know much about this model so not aware if they are prone to a particular problem in this area. Ta for any info. Craig

Check for loose or broken frame bolts, motor mount bolts, bashplate bolts and exhaust bolts. Also check for cracks in the swingarm, shock link and link attachments.

You could also try the Exhaust mounting bolts on the rear silencer to the sub frame.

I’ve had them come loose in the past and the knock sounds suspiciously like a bearing noise.

I had a bad noise on my Gas Gas like that. I thought it was a big end but found it to be that the kick starter was not timmed and it had taken the tops of the idle gear and jammed the metal pieces in the the clutch basket gear and the crank/waterpump gear. Once i cleaned all metal bits out every thing was A OK.
