Getting started in Trials - Northern Rivers NSW

Post by Cameron J »

Hi All,

I am 31 yr old male and am interested in getting into moto trials riding. However, I live in Ballina, NSW and don’t know of anyone around here that rides.
If anyone knows anything about the Northern Rivers NSW scene, could you please email me ?

Answers to the following questions would be helpful…
-What kind of bike should I start with?
-What other equipment will I need?

Also, anyone got a trials bike for sale for less than $3000?

I should be at the Kyogle trial this weekend - would like to meet someone for a chat about getting into trials.

Any help much appreciated,

to Answer your Questions you can start on any Trials bike it's upto you,
everyone has there particular brand that they stick with. Every bike has it's good and bad points so the choice is really upto you. I would tell you to start on a Montesa 315 between the 2001 and 2004 but if you look in the Classifieds you'll see a range of other bikes for sale.
and the other equipment you'll need is Helmet Boots and gloves, Just the basics, I would recommend an open face helmet because they are a lot cooler, since your net riding fast the MotorX helmets are too hot to wear

My fiance and myself are going be heading down to the Kyogle Trial,
we'll be the ones riding the Montesa 4RT's. So if you wanna come and talk to us no Problems

So come and introduce yourself
