I'm sure the TY experts will be along soon but sounds like you've either drawn some crap into the carb or the float is stuck open - either way a carb strip and clean is good start...

Try a new plug, as the high temps caused from running out of fuel may have popped your plug? these plugs will still spark but do not spark under compression.
As suggested above you cant beat a good carby clean, try Yamaha carb cleaner it seams to work well for me.
Good luck

my TY suffered a similar fate when out trail riding last year.I normally strip my carby in the sterile confines of the garage, but had to endure windy, dusty conditions. The carby was clogged up which allowed fuel to pour into the engine then into the bottom end! I pumped the kick starter and a jet of fuel came out of the plug hole. The full tank drained into the bottom end! I just cleaned theh plug, pumped what I could out and it started 1st kick whenit was all back together.
And I havent had any trouble since!
Feet up, as always!
