Gday all, while 4Robs is sorting some good replacement ones out, I have found the bottom radiator hose from a Toyota FJ40 landcruiser works well as a carb inlet tube replacement. You need to cut it down to length of course, but it will do until something better comes along.
Cheers,
Stork

hi all,
just so you know, if the fj40 fits then so will the fj45, fj55, fj60, fj70, fj73, fj75, fj80
all these had the same radiator hose diameter. and I think by memory so do any of the petrol patrols, not sure about any others but I'm sure there would be many.
cheers, Gordon

Re: TY250 T/S Carb Inlet Tube Replacement
I needed that carb hose for my TY250B and was at the local car parts shop today and had the carby and an old hard Yamaha hose with me but could only remember that Stork955 had said that some model Landcruiser hose should be OK so I told the sales person just that.
She went through about 20 likely looking hoses all suspended from a neat rack system on the ceiling and handed me one that she reckoned looked about right and what do you know - it is a Gates hose for an FJ55 and it is perfect.
I like that shop and thanks for the lead Stork955.

I am surprised you needed to buy one new David, I never throw any of those old bits out. Even if I had I could point you in the direction of atleast 10 broken down rusty cruisers in the bush. I think what stork955 was getting at, was to think outside the square when it comes to replacement parts.

Hey Gordo you must live somewhere that hasn't been overly regulated as far as dumped cars go. We haven't had that sort of thing for many years despite living 15km out of town and 550 km from the nearest city.
I do have fond memories of the "downtown hardware store" from many years ago but it's all gone now and it even costs money to dump old motorbike tyres now.

Yes david I do. but the beurocrats are slowly getting there. I must say though most of the shire ( Byron Bay ) is quite strictly policed but there are a few areas ( hipiesville) that are just left to their own devices. So the bush trails never get graded and are mostly washed out making it great for 4X4s and off road bikes. This is one of the reasons I love it so much. I've got 15kms of bush tracks with broken down cars, waterfalls ,rainforest abandoned houses all starting 100m from my house.
