TL125 How to tell year model?

Hi everyone,

I have a TL125 that requires a new throttle cable but im not exactly sure of the year model of the bike and cant find any specific markings apart from a paint code on the left side of the frame.
It is the Field Tripper model which i believe is early 80's?

Heres a pic of a bike which looks the exact same [minus lights]



Any further info appreciated

Hi nathan,
I cannot help you with the year model but I was wondering if you had the fork alignment checked It may be an optical illusion but in the photo it looks like your forks are twisted to the left.

Thanks mate but not my bike in the photo it was just some random one i found searching google that i used as an example.

Have a look for the engine number on the inner engine casings and for the frame number on the steering head frame tube.
Being a Japanese domestic model that bike was probably not imported new into Australia so I'm assuming yours was imported to here second hand. Then again I'm only assuming you are in Australia. There are probably some of them imported second hand to the US too.
You may have better luck asking about your bike on the Honda forum on this website, where lots of Honda trials bike owners will see the posting:

Thanks David, i had a feeling it was a JDM only bike since im having dramas finding any info on it thats not in Japanese only.
I shall check that other site out also.

Hi Nathan, I can't give you the part number for this identical model TLR125 but I can give you these, which may suit

TL125 (earlier model) throttle cable is 17910-355-000 or
TLR200 (same style as your TLR125) is 17910-KJ2-000
