With all this showing and telling going on it inspired me to pull out some of my own "the older i get the better i was" photos so here goes.
These three are of Mick Andrews at the 1975 Gold Coast Motorcycle Club demo held at Cedar Glen just outside Nerang, Jeff Gough at the same venue & brother Robert at Bonogin Road just south of Mudgeeraba at a tiltle event me thinks.

As you can see, it is obviously Queensland with the lack of upper body attire, and in those days body hair as well.
These next three are of yours truly on my brand new fully sponsored KT250 only months before i left for Europe and a premature end to my Trials riding career in Australia. I did ride a couple of events in England in 1977 which i seem to recall were very wet, slippery and cold. The other photos are of Chris Reed in her heyday and the next is self explanitory taken at Bonogin Road again which was the training ground of preference for most of the Gold Coast riders in the mid to late 70's.

And lastly, a couple of other crusty demons of the period plus an unknown in keeping with the current forum topic of "Naming this Rider". The Unknown was taken again at Bonogin Road and believe it or not the same log is still there today but alas our playground has been divided up into acreage blocks. That's progress for you!
I hope this now satifies your curiosity David????????

Wow those sure are fantastic photos Ian. Do you actually know who the rider is in the last photo or are you hoping someone else will know?
It looks like you stopped taking trials pictures about the same time as me (1980) when something happened to do with women and I was distracted from trials for a while.
Those photos of Jeff and Robert Gough are exactly as I remember them from when I first started riding trials. I had forgotten how hairy everyone was. John Barwick with his headband has amazing hair and even Mark Reed looks like his hair is down to collar level. Den in 1980 looks like the bloke who says "I have come to clean ze pool".
You've got me motivated to post some more photos from the mid 1970s that I have scanned recently. Quite a few I have forgotten the riders names so there will be some more 1970s SE Queensland trials rider guessing games coming soon.

Re: More Blasts From The Pasts 01
Ok here's one for tonight. This young man lived at Balmoral, Brisbane near me and was a riding buddy early in the history of the Northern Districts MTC. He was famous for bringing amazingly well presented girls along to our rustic campouts at Lacey's Creek and for being outrageously cheeky to women in scoring tents and getting away with it. One day I was standing beside him when we were getting our first cards. The NYL with the cards said "name?" to which he just replied "spunky" and smiled at her. Luckily she smiled right back.
I took this photo in 1976 at the Grid property, Lacey's Creek, not long after he got his new Cota 172.
Who was this cheeky man?

Children are smarter than any of us. Know how I know that? I don't know one child with a full time job and children.
