Modified rear guard pass scrutineering?

Post by motostar99 »

Hi all,

Long story short I came off my bike on Saturday and snapped the end off my already brittle rear guard. So I have cut it down and filed it up to be shorter than original.

Will this be fine to pass scrutineering? I'm guessing it will but just wanted to double check. If someone who actually does scrutineering could let me know that would be great!

Was that a result of the forward somersault one and a half pike I saw you perform to perfect 10's into Stockyard Creek on Section 2 yesterday??????

Luke - I've actually sent a couple of emails to people in Aus who deal with Sherco's a few months ago but no one responded, haven't got around to ringing anyone yet.... I'll get one eventually!!

Diddly - Glad you got to see that one! And I actually broke the guard the day before so wasn't a result of that one... What made it worse is that I found out on my next lap that was the B Grade line, so the last two times I'd struggled through there, including my somersault one and a half pike, I didn't need to!

Hi Nic
Of course you have read your MOMS.......haven't you?
You know, that paperweight you got with your licence renewal.
Check out page 96 12.8.10 Mudguards. I wont type it all out, i'm lazy like that.

But before you worry about scrutineering, first you have to enter.....hint hint!

John - thats the one!

Don - thanks for that. i was intending to send my registration in this week, but want to find out first if you'll let me ride before I send you my $60!! Don't know how I'd go trying to find a rear guard before the event if i have to get one!

Nic,
Well the book says 20 degrees past the vertical line of your axle......But not everyone carrys a protractor around with them do they!!
After all, that might be dangerous! Never ride while protracting!

Yeah I found my 2009 MOMS before...

And I agree, protracting in itself is quite extreme, wouldn't want to be doing it while riding!
