Glenmaggie Camping

In relation to the last line of the Congratulations to the Oakleigh Club "Glenmaggie continues to be one of Australia's great trials. Next Easter make sure you get there. You will not be disappointed. Well done to Oakleigh MCC on a truly fantastic event" I heard that the camping was at a maximum. As someone who is contemplating his first visit what comment can the organisers make? I wouldn't like to travel from interstate and take my family and tents and find that we were the last to arrive with nowhere to pitch accommodation. :?:

There are acres of camping area on the other side of the creek. Some people camp over there now.

Camping at GM is kinda like packing a Gearsack... "always room for one more" :D

There was still room near us, in the middle.

And PA is right - the other side of the creek is virtually limitless. (But you need a 4WD to drive across, or perhaps a lease car would also make it :-" )

Thanks for the feedback.
I had heard you needed a 4WD to cross over and wondered if an improvement to the creek crossing was on the cards rather than carry all our camping gear across the creek? I also heard that some lower grade riders didn't even make the crossing without stopping for a bath! Hearing is believing?!
