TL 250

Post by Warren »

Well I finally got to pick up the TL thanks to a friend with a Ute. I have been at the guy for 30 years to sell it to me & finally he did. It is a one owner & had been stored in a container for years (15 +) without seeing the light of day (felt a bit like Indianna Jones). It still has all the mud on it from when it was last ridded. In saying all this it need quite a bit of work, however the paint on the tank is like new. I will need a set of side covers (Smack I will take you up on the replica's) a set of guards, the forks re-chromed, & worse of all the silencer has been ripped off the muffler & thrown away years ago.
Ther frame number is TL250- 1004178 if anyone can tell me what year it is as the guy I bought it from cannot remember when he bought it.
Finally, I will post pictures soon.

Cheers Warren

Thanks for the identification. I mucked around with it today in an effort to see if it would start. the tank & cab was filled with many ears old fuel, the smell alomst knock me over. I need to get a seal kit for the fuel tap as the petcock was like a goo. Also the ignition lead has gone all sticky on the inside as if something has spilt on it. I hope I can get a lead & not have to replace the coil.
Anyway I'll keep you all up to date on how it is progressing (along with the TY)

Cheers
