Sherco 80 wont idle!

Just bought my son a great little sherco 80 (2004). But have a problem getting an even idle. If he lets the throttle go the engine fades. Once its going all is well except for the idle. Can you give me a quick list of things to check. The carby is a Dellorto.

Hey Motneb,Try cleaning the carby and fresh fuel and airfilter first then hold a slight throttle to get it to run at fast idle and squirt dwf or similiar around inlet manifold.If idle goes down replace manifold.Also always check exhaust for collapsing inside or Mud wasps/insects etc..
See how ya go..How much compression has it got.does it start easier hot or cold?..Cheers

Thanks man. I will try it out and see how I go. Have just removed the carby and will blow out with compressed air.

Oh yes compression seem good. It only starts with choke even when HOT?
