2009 WORLD MOUNTAIN BIKE AND TRIALS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Post by The Observer »

It’s been a long time between Championship activities at Stromlo in Canberra...

The 2009 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships will have Canberra rockin’ and rollin, from the 1-6 of September. The venue, the crown jewel of all OZ mountain biking facilities, Stromlo Forest Park, will be ready to host the world’s elite riders and all of us yearning to see them in action.

For more information about this ULTRA event...Check out:
https://www.mtbworldscanberra.com.au/home/

This event follows hot on the heals of the Women's Cup in Canberra 23rd of August and the Aussie Titles near Sydney - August 29 & 30.

So why not keep on rolling down to Canberra on your way home...

There will be 4 days of pushbike TRIALS – from Thursday to Sunday! – with a dedicated event for women Trials riders on the Friday.

The 2009 World Champs Cross Country course involves climbing and descending the eastern face of Mt Stromlo. Challenging climbs, fast smooth fire road sections, single track, rocks, stumps, gullies and trees. It’s all there, all the elements that makes XCO what it is! These events will be on Tuesday to Saturday – with 7 events in 5 days

Of course, the DOWNHILL and 4CROSS events - with new stages and grandstands, will suplement the Cross Country and Trials events.

To give your ears some respite from the cowbells on the hill there will be live music line up. Under the lights on Friday night on a purpose built stage on the side of the 4X DJ Kizza and 2Dogs will get the party started. DJ Kid Kenobi will then kick on in the Jim Beam Bike Bar. After the XCO on Saturday we will reignite the party flame with Pablo Disco Bar and Resin Dogs.

And whatever you do, don’t miss the after party on Sunday!
Ticket prices start from just $20.00! You can get them through the official website http://www.mtbworldscanberra.com or directly from the Ticketek website

I’ll be there – what about you???
