Okay two-smoke guru's, I may have a small problem.
I was plonking around the backyard on Saturday arvo on the 82 SWM320 when the throttle went all "limp". The throttle cup had decided to break which itself was not a problem as I had a new spare Domino setup on my desk.
I swapped broke for new and away I went again.
After 15-20 minutes I stopped to move one of my "obstacles" back into place and I noticed a "knocking" coming from the engine.
It was not constant. Very intermittant. It might just be that the idle is a bit lower now but I am thinking more along the lines of maybe a bit too much side play between the conrod and crank allowing a "knocking" sound from the side to side movement??
Has anybody else come across this before or am I possibly worrying about nothing?
I intend to pull the top end off and have a look and maybe throw a new piston and rings in while the UK pound is weak anyway, so does anybody have the tolerances for an SWM320 engine?

G'Day Bigem, Not sure about the knocking noise but contact Peter Knight at [email protected] there's not much he doesn't know about your engine & he will also have any parts you might need. He was more than helpful when I rebuilt my red & white 320, just quote your engine number & he will know exactly what you have.
Cheers Dave.
Cheers Dave.
Re: Intermitant "knocking" at idle-SWM 320
Thanks Dave.
I have not had a chance to look at it since last weekend so hopefully I can tomorrow.
When I replaced the throttle assembly, the idle dropped a bit so I am hoping that's exagerating the issue.
If it doesn't "fix" it, I will chase up Peter Knight and pick his brain.
Thanks again mate, much appreciated.
