TY250R Pinky Clutch Problems

Post by escoe11 »

The clutch on new pinky is not working - bike has been sitting for about 6 months so it could be sticking, any ideas on how to free it up? Maybe I just need to replace it
Thanks for any ideas

Yes probably plates stuck together - common problem with bikes parked for a while, especially if there is any water in the gearbox oil
The easy way (if you are lucky) is to go for a ride somewhere you can get into top gear. Load up the motor with a hill or the rear brake while holding the clutch lever in. Using top gear puts the most torque on the clutch and the warmth of the motor will help too.
If this doesn't do the trick then you will need to take the clutch cover off and separate the plates manually. Take care not to bend the steel plates or break the friction plates. It's usually a good time to service the clutch while you have it apart.
relax, nothing is under control
