Already posted on Trials Central but couldn't resist posting for 5 reasons-1. 3 x SWM Jumbos; 2. Bernie won on one; 3. A honda 4 stroke drowns

; 4. A spectacular crash off the old transit and 5. Mick Andrews commentary and a Majesty being ridden in the competition.

Some more memorabilia. I actually have the Dirt Bike [American] mag where this shot was published of Bernie on a Bully 1978. Can somebody confirm the model? is it a 198?

Mark its either a 198 or a 199. The frame tubes under the motor are a giveaway. They didn't need those black plastic skid plates once Bultaco did away with the frame tubes and fitted a nice flat aluminium bashplate as per the M198A/199A.
My money is on the bike being a 199 because if it is a bike test in US DB magazine, they would have wanted to test the 325 (because Yanks like big motors). If it is an article about Bernie, and it is his bike in the photo, then it would also be a 325 (M199)

Hi Dave,
The article was in Dirt Bike May 1978 and it was a 350 [325cc] so a M199 eh?. The bash plate was after market.

Paul says it's very hard to tell between 198/250 and 199/350 from the photo but he can certainly handle it!
