MICK ANDREWS NZ TOUR FEB-MAR 2011

Post by robertc »

Just to let everyone know Mick Andrews will be in New Zealand next Feb-March appearing in Christchurch, Nelson, Wellington, Wanganui and Hamilton, riding in both twinshock trials and running training schools. He is in NZ for five weeks. He is the special guest (along with CCM Works MX rider Jimmy Aird) @ the Upper Hutt International Classic bike Festival on Feb 26-27th, just 20 mins drive from Wellington International Airport. Mick will ride in the Trial on Saturday, speak at the Dinner at the Trentham Racecourse on the Saturday evening and on Sunday ride a 1958 Works Matchless 600cc and Rickman Metisse 1968 Matchless 600cc (one of the last 3 engines to leave the factory) while Jimmy will ride a 1980 CCM 4v WR 500cc and a 1981 2v 480cc machines. This flattrack scramble is a bit like your dirt track racing but on grass. Further details and entry forms are on www.legendsofdirt.co.nz - and you do not need an international licence to compete.
Hope a few Australian riders and fans can make it across ...Robert

Might get him to sign my '73 MAR 250...

That'd be cool.

John Rees & myself did a trials school with Mick, Thierry Michaud & Pascal Couturier in the early 90's. There were about 6 girls in the school & somehow Mick ended up taking them for most of the time. He was still pretty handy then.
