Junior coaching session February 2011

Angela Sophios ran another Junior coaching session up here last weekend. This time there were five Juniors riding.
It was the first time I have seen Nicole Casey riding her new Scorpa 125 and was very impressed with how she has progressed since getting the Scorpa over the Christmas break. I've heard that the reason Nicole wanted that bike in particular was that it has a Yamaha motor - such was her enjoyment of her previous Yamaha trials bikes.
Darcy Lahey also impressed me on his GasGas 50 because I missed seeing him ride at the previous coaching session and he has progressed lots - especially on the bigger obstacles that the OSET couldn't climb. I was quite relaxed riding behind him for quite a while as he practiced twisty turns through the rainforest, but then started to panic when he aimed at a 2.5 metre dirt bank, but he just cruised up it as if it wasn't there! The mods to the GG clutch have made it lots smoother to ride in turns too.
Timothy Evans' KT250 now has a nice clutch action and free-moving shockies thanks to Dad Kevin working on it and Timothy is developing a smooth style which suits that bike very well.
