MTCQ’s TY CHALLENGE 2011 – The challenge is on! News Update"

Post by Don Duck »

If you love your TY, or own a TY, and are looking for an opportunity to ride it?
Then this event is for you!

When’s it on? July 24th 2011 at MTCQ’s Undullah, Qld property.

This year’s event will continue to include: “The Best Presented TY” – “Best Rat Bike TY” and the usual novelty awards.
And let’s not forget the crowning of the “TY Challenge Champion” for 2011, along with the presentation of the “TY Challenge Perpetual Trophy”
Who’s got the guts to go for glory and knock off the two year running defending champion, Daniel Telfer? Or can Daniel make it a hat trick?

It’s an inter-club event, so that mean’s one-event licences will be available, and interstate TY riders can enter just buy paying a nominal club membership fee.

Air Cooled Monoshock class for 2011;
Well if this class isn’t right up the TY’S alley, I don’t know what is!
So drag them out, dust them off, adjust the waist on your nylons and ride em’.

All Yamaha TY’s are eligible, Twinshocks, Mono’s, TYZ’s (Sorry Scorpa’s, your not real ty’s)

Of course this event will also have all the usual class’s and grades for all the OTHER bikes!

Some people say........Owning a TY is a challenge!
Some people say........Riding a TY is a challenge!
Some people say........Beating Daniel Telfer is a challenge!

We just call it..........The “TY CHALLENGE”

Cheers

News Update:
MTCQ has elected to open up the "Best Presented TY" award to “Show ‘n’ Shine only” bikes as well as those entered in the event for competition.

So this means those of you who have an extra special shiny machine that you can't bear to get dirty, can also be in the running for best the presented award. Wohoo!

Sorry Rat Bike guys, yours still have to be entered in the event and pass macinery! Its a safety thing!
It also means they have to run!!! lol.......Oh and have wheels!?

The Challenge is ON!

Cheers

Hi bgradesherco,

MTCQ's committee carefully and purposely did not make it a round of the series.

This was so that anyone who was seriously doing the whole series could still come out and ride their TY without comprimising their position in the series by riding in a different class.

And the winner is...............................

A well deserved win Greg and a well presented (not like that other piece of crap!!!!) and even better sorted bike....not like mine as only you would know Greg (riding partner for TY Challenge). I know you have been wanting this crown for a number of years now.

Greg's score for the day was a total of 9, which was well and truly up there with a lot of the modern bike riders. Who needs a modern bike???

So here is a few photos of the day.....

I happen to win the "Best dressed" award.

Lachlan happen to win the best "Rat bike award" (and bike courtesy of Robert Eyres) and he also won Junior on the Ty175. This would have helped him tone his skills for the Nationals later in the year!!!

What's this secret weapon crap? Run out of room to attach jam tins with 4" nails in them to the Camcota rattler did we?
Well done at long last and was that a preprepared speech you're holding in your left hand?

Hi Everyone,

Chippy, thanks, also for riding with us on sunday and supporting this great event. Can`t wait for the next one as this trial gets better each year. Suppose its a (not so secret weapon now), perhaps someone younger on a less than 36 year old bike will give us a run next year, bring it on!

Ian, so many of my old bikes rattle, I must just get used to it! In my left hand is my latest TY Challenge shirt and medallion, not one to brag but now I have 3!

Below is some action shots that Donna snapped.
