It turned out there was a cluster of things causing problems. Here is what I have found so far:
Fuel tap passing
Float needle valve passing
Water in float bowl
Pilot jet loose
Fouled spark plug
Ignition stator laminations rubbing on flywheel
Damaged ignition stator windings (from the metal particles flying around inside the flywheel)
Pretty amazing I was able to do two laps on it at Conondale with all that going on.
It is going well again now and should be fully sorted by the 2012 riding season

Hello all. Good to hear you have that fine piece of spanish machinery sorted out David. They are easy to work on aren`t they. Great shots of the later model Sherpa`s. Thank you. Graham.

Ah the results. Sorry I only remember a few of the results;
Introductory won by Samantha Sophios (Beta EVO 125)
Clubman Twinshock won by Kevin Gloss (Honda CT185)
Open Twinshock won by Greg Harding (Bultaco Sherpa T M49)
Second and third places in Open Twinshock (not sure who is which) Tony Bax (TLR250) and Justin Gough (1983 Honda RS250T)
There looked to be about 40 to 50 Twinshock/Classic bikes and maybe 40 moderns. I think there were three Twinshock sidecar outfits
More photos coming soon
