Forks Clunking/Banging on Full Extension

Hey all,

So I've finally stopped talking about it and actually got myself another bike! When the forks are fully extended, as in hopping the front wheel around, it feels like it bangs pretty hard when it hits full extension, more so than other bikes I've hard. It's an 09 Gas Gas. Not sure whether it may just need some new fork oil in it, or whether that would even actually help this scenario. Or is this just a pretty normal feel for the forks on this?

Any help would be swell! 8)

Forks are topping out.
Sounds like previous owner fiddled with them and screwed up bigtime.
Stock they definitely don't do that.

Hi motostar99
you have air in the damper side cartridge. With the Marzochhi forks the damper mech needs to pre-loaded with oil before it is installed in the fork leg assembly. It's not that difficult to do, but it is difficult to explain the procedure over my mobile phone while I'm in the USA on christmas break. it's no big problem and easy to fix. i am back in the factory on Monday 9th january - call me and i will talk you through it if necessary.

Quick fix is to crank up the rebound.

The real answer is to check your fork setup and condition.

Thanks guys! Paul I'll give you a buzz next week if I can't find any useful information on the process across the net.

Cheers,
