Re: mixture
Hello Wedge, most people run air cooled older bikes on 50 to 1 mixture of synthetic two stroke oil. I use Castrol TTS in my Bultaco but there are better oils out there. Motul, Putoline, Gro and even Belray are all very good. Make sure you also use 98 RON fuel as well or else it will ping like crazy. Graham.

Get hold of a fully synthetic pre-mix only race oil, and use that at 70/80:1. Its not that great an idea to use autolube type 2T oils for pre-mix competition bikes, as these are very thin to go through the autolube pumps, and dont provide as good corrosion protection as higher viscosity pre-mix only oils.
If you do decide to use an autolube type oil, then dont run it at the mix ratio suggested earlier and stick to 50:1 mix ratio.
Synthetic type oils are not really that good an idea at ratios such as 50:1 though, as they dont burn as easily as mineral oils, and a semi synthetic or mineral oil will reduce the need for servicing exhaust systems.
