Detail questions for a TY175JC part 1

Post by Tioli »

Hi, I have a few questions that need clarifying. This bike is half molested as I first got it some time ago striped to the crank at the wreckers and when I first put it together I wasn’t thinking too much. I rode it a bit and put it away. Some time later I pulled it out and had another go at making it more original with out really knowing what I was doing and put it away. This time through Greg and his Basket case topic he swapped me some parts. Now I’m getting anal want some fine tuning on what’s right and what’s not.

I have numbered these and if you could add your input to a picture number that would be greatly appreciated.

1I made this wire loop up based on some advise gained hear is it the right shape and position to hols the loom

1/1 the cable really wants to sit hear and is barely touching anything which says to me its in its happy spot.

4 not asking any thing just that I want to clarify to Ernie that I did not buy this new but pulled it apart as the face was spotty, cleaned it, sprayed with silicon, re-chromed the body, flicked the Speedo, put together and painted the top section in place.

12 see any thing odd let me know

13 are the dampers in the right place

14 are the old yellowed cable straps the right ones

15 new addition thanks to Greg

16 new seat out of the wrapper showing off

17 is this the right washer bolt and tail light combo

18 this is a reproduction of the right tail light except for the real one has a red side reflector. Yellow is a US thing it thinks.

18.1 I have a original lens but it doesn’t quite fit the reproduction base plate. Any one with a original base plate I would be interested. Plus are these round reflectors on each side for our bike

19 is that how the throttle cable runs

20 is that wire loop for the brake cable or the throttle cable on the other side

21 see any thing odd let me know

22 I’m using the 206 shell wired to suit our wiring loom requirements as I think it looks better. (not original I know)

23 I believe these black plastic cases are the right ones for us. Don’t look as good though

24 when I put this motor back together I think I put the kick starter starting point in the wrong position. It sits at the top like normal but does not get compression till there.

25 what type of loom holder goes there

26 what type of cable holder holds the clutch cable there? Metal with plastic sleave, black plastic or clear plastic

27 battery box is new thanks to Greg. Are these the right blot and washers holding it on?

28 should I find a smaller top breather tube and run it through the casted hole on the carby body

Any help is good help in getting this bike back to original.
Thank you
Eric
