Hey All,
I have only had the time to get on the bike a couple of times. Been practicing track stands, endos, and small wheelies.
My question is taking of in different gears. The bike I'm on is an 06 sherco 290. 1st to 3rd gear seems really short. I was wondering whether it's alright to take off in say third gear? It seems like normal first on a trail bike.
Thanks

The bottom gears are for riding trials sections and yes you can take off in whatever gear you feel like
relax, nothing is under control

If you feel comfortable starting off in 3rd that's ok
Sometimes when there is a big hill climb I start off in third just to get the momentum on a short take off.

I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't ruin my gearbox to bad
Thanks very much for the replies.

You wont hurt the gear box maybe the clutch a bit, I used to take off in 5th on a 350.
