best bike for an 11 year-old

Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was thinking about getting back into trials after road and track riding for the last 18 years and thought it would be a great sport to get my 11 year-old son into also. I was thinking of a Beta EVO 250 for me, but I'm not sure on what size to get him. Do any of you have kids around the same age that can point me in the right direction? I would like to get something maybe 1 or 2 years old.

Thanks for any help given

It's important how big he is and how fast he is growing. If he's little for 11 then a GasGas Boy 50 is a good thing. If he's average size for 11, then a Beta Rev80 is probably the pick bike. If he's big for 11 then a 125 might be a good choice.
A good test for what to get is to only buy a bike that he can pick up from it lying down on the ground.
Second hand trials bikes smaller than 125 for sale are thin on the ground.

Thanks Dave, great advice. He is tall for 11 so I guess I better take him to have a look at some. If he could get on a 125 and be strong enough to pick it up, that would be good, even if I needed to restrict the power a bit. As like you say the 80s are hard to find.

My 11 yr old is on a Gas Gas 80. 19" front, 17" rear.
She is small, so this suits her perfectly.

If taller I would look to the 125cc.

(Keep in mind the 125cc limit for Juniors).

Thanks for the advice, I got a Gas Gas 80 as he seemed more confident on that rather than the 125
