Newbie after advice

Hi all, I joined this forum a while back planning to buy a trials bike but got side tracked and bought a WR250F to race the road trials here in SA. Well, I'm back on track and just bought a bike (pick up this weekend). It's a 97 Beta 250 Techno. I opted for an older / cheaper bike just to see how it goes and if I like it I'll upgrade later. My question is, will a bike like this be ok for a 53 y o gumby like me to learn on? (maybe I should have asked this question here before I committed to buy it :D ) and is there anything I need to know about this trials caper? There is a couple of local blokes who are good riders and I intend to ask them if they'll teach me how to ride it.

Cheers

The bike will be perfect. Clean the air filter, change the gearbox oil, put in a new plug and go and enjoy yourself. Paul Mac

Yeah, I know the owners brother and it hasn't done a lot of work.

Looks allright for its age Kipo. Will be just the ticket to sharpen up your skills. Normally a bike of that age has been passed down a few owners and hammered beyond recognition
Is that Richard Kings old bike??
How long has it been sitting around? Best to follow Pauls advice and change everything and go for a flog.
I would get some fork protectors on it and go have a good look here; http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/Manniko/Manniko-home.html
and here

that will get u started 8)

Cheers mate, not one of Kingy's, it was Andrew Fethers bike, Nick's brother.
