ty175 kickstarter

Post by paulo »

Does anyone have a useable ty175 kickstarter that they could spare, or know of a readily available interchange from another model? Cheers

There is nothing else that is the same shape, but if you are willing to fold up the footpeg to kick it, there are a few that fit. One I've heard of like that is RD250/350/400 yamaha. WR200/DT200 looks close in shape but I've never tried one of them
The standard Ty175 kickstart is a bit flimsy in the pivot area so it pretty rare to find a decent second hand one. They are still available from Yamaha shops.
I bought a couple of new ones a few years ago from John Cane in the UK for about $160 each.
On a bike that starts easily, they last for decades. If the bike doesn't start well, they can fail much sooner
relax, nothing is under control
