On my trials boots, the top buckles on both boots have started to tear away from the boot. Is there any way to repair this? and where?
Thanks.

Mine did the same Stuart.i literally drilled and bolted with a countersunk stainless steel machine screw. Use loctite and then cut the screw flush with the nut inside. Sounds crude, but it worked.

I forget the screw size Stuart, maybe 4 or 6mm but I do recall that once you drill out the rivets the countersunk head of the machine screw fitted perfectly and allowed the buckle to function perfectly.

I recall thinking it was a bloody stupid set up bonding a mechanical buckle to the boot with rubber/ plastic that was bound to deteriorate premature to the rest of the boot. Unfortunately within 18 months the shin protector deteriorated in the same manner.

I have a couple of pairs of the current model Gaerne boots and am very happy with them.

Hey there, my Gaerne top buckles started to come free also. I scuffed, superglued, clamped them, then left em in the sun all arvo. I reckon Tarzans Grip would be better. Buckles still holding after 6 months now.

Anyone around Lake Macquarie keen for a blap today?
