im fiting a rear to my XR250 soon, and i do ride it on the road a fair bit.

are they suitable at speed? i ride out to menai from revesby and sit on 70kph most of the way....will a trials tyre be ok?

Dave,

You could hunt around and get a Pirelli trials pattern rear tyre. They are a harder compound than a competition tyre and will give much better wear. Not only that they are a tubed tyre so if you get a flat they are much easier to change. On the XR250 I think you will still get all the traction you need. I was planning on stocking them but haven't got around to it, they were standard issue on the Monty's in the mid 80's and I believe they are road legal.
