Im looking for a weekend intro course in trials, Im very intrested in getting into trials but would like to have a go first before going out and buying a bike. Ive been riding road bikes for years and read all the web sites on trials thoroughly so Ive got some idea or little idea of what Im getting into. Im on the Gold Coast Qld and any ideas would be welcome
Logan river moto trials club hold a come & try day. You can find a contact number for the club on this website. They will be able to tell you when the next one is planned.
I used to race motocross and mountainbikes for years and I honestly thought I was going to get a trials bike and show them how it was done. WRONG. I've now been doing it for two years and I am steadily improving. I think the best thing you could do to practice for riding a trials bike for the first time would be to ride a bmx slowly over rough terain. hopping, jumping, front brake control, and try also doing a wheelie/mono in about 1m then getting the front end down again quick as possible. also try going down something steep, keeping your weight back. this is honestly more like the skills you will need than riding any type of motorbike. I also ride an old farmers ag bike ( ct 185 ) this is good practise. I'm not far from you and if you fancy coming down to Byron area for a ride give me a call on 02 6684 5395 / 042050 5395 some might disagree with my advice , I would be interested to know what others think.
