History help!

Post by Fading Memories »

G'day. I've just joined up to the forum and I am trying to find out where I can get a list of results for the Junior division in the 1975 Australian Trials Championships held at Mt Kembla in NSW. I rode in it and I am wanting to know how the results table looked. Can anyone help me get this info? Cheers.

Are you sure it was 1975? I know that the aussie titles were held at Mt Kembla in 1976 and Craig Gillies won Junior on the Saturday and then rode the Open the next day, finishing 11th. Second in Junior was J. Hodgeson and I. Batholomew.
There are people who contribute to this forum who would probably have ridden the 1975 aussie titles so you may get your answer from one of the horses mouths if you are lucky.
The results may also be in the MA MOMS.

HI
I believe someone like Bev Anderson Tranter or Gary Boniface may be able to help here. They were probably both at the event ....like David, I'm sure it was 1976 (actually I can almost 100% guarantee that Bev was and probably competed against you! ) and I'm sure they will still have the programmes and results somewhere....being confirmed trials tragics and all!

Good luck

Hey thanks! It seems my memory was rather ordinary. 1976 it is! Is there an online way to look at all the entrants? Appreciate all your replies.

Fading Memories,
I rode Juniors at that Festival of Mt. Kembla mud too.
I've been involved with Moto-Trials in Wollongong since then & have been one of the organisers of Trials in Wollongong for over 20 years.
Unfortuneatley I've never seen any copies of results for that Aussie c/ships.
MNSW or MA would only have place getters for each grade.
Trevor Bennett in Canberra may be well worth contacting as he has contested over 30 years worth of Aussie C/ships & is a stickler for keeping records.

Good luck with your search.

Maree, I don't have spell check so take it easy will ya !!

If you're still interested, I have the 1976 Aussie Title programme with all the entries. All the results as well.
The Restricted Class was won by Craig Gillies (Logan River MCC Qld) on 18, second was John Hodgson (Lyons MCC NSW) on 39, third was Ian Bartholomew (Wollongong MCC NSW) on 72, fourth was Bruce McIntyre (Oakleigh MCC Vic)on 84, 5th was Greg Kilfoyle (Diamond Valley MCC Vic) on 112.
