George
I agree we should not be talking about eligibility on this topic as it is detracting from the original posts congratulating WDMTC from putting on an excellent event. I merely reminded David that he forgot to mention the 5 Cubs competing and by the way they didn't all compete in Classic which is what I meant by suggesting you check your facts.

I want to start another topic on Classic eligibility to try and get some rational, majority, common sense thoughts on where we all go to decide Classic Pre 65 eligibility because if we, the riders, don't do it and put it to MA then nothing will happen and we will all be arguing forever more.
Cheers

M10-M27 Bullies aren't any more competitive than the bikes getting around now so there would be nothing to fear but wouldn't it be great seeing a Bully whipping those pommies ar#es ,probably work in reverse for the pommy fans
Ross

=D> yes yes yes Ross. It would also allow people to ride things like later model Greeves and bikes like the James that Mick Andrews rides. I'd be happy with making it even later than '68 so that late series M49s and Mk1 Cotas could be ridden. My suggestion would be to cut off just before the MAR OSSA (1971?) which was a giant step forwards in development.

Thanks David, WDTC really enjoys putting on The Twinshock Masters each year. It is getting to be quite some event. We are already fielding sponsorship offers for next year and giving some thought to the format.

Kathy has all the bikes listed on the entry forms. She says you are free to look anytime you want cause she won't be looking soon! She is still trying to catch up on the sleep she missed out on organising entries for the event. We should have the results in a publishable form soon though. I reckon you are not far off with numbers and should be able to fine tune it with a list.

One thing though - As much as I am pleased at the Honda dominance over Yamaha, I am dissapointed that there were so few "Intereting brands" present. Why so few RLs, KTs, montesas, swms, ossas, butacos, italjets.....?

As far as the classic class was concerned - we didn't change the MOMS rules one iota. And we weren't millitant about enforcing the rules either. This is supposed to be a fun event. I struggled with new boy Shanes entry because he was running a rather modern carb on his cub. I wanted him to ride classic but given the classic elegilibilty pillow fight this year, I was concerned about repercussions if I let him. So he rode twinshock clubman, had a good time, and did very well. He is clearly a talented rider and modern carb or not, you classic guys are in for some serious competition.

So next year, if (when?) the MOMS change, we'll be reconsidering our position on Classics. We have options:

1. have the class as the MOMS prescribes
2. just have a twinshock class
3. Have an additional non-competitive class for any old bike/rider to free ride (and this might get those rarer makes out so I might do it anyway).
4. Have a pre 68/69/70 class (and if anyone argues about elegibility/lodges a protest/bitches to me they are deemed overly competiteve and not in the spirit of the event and automatically go in the open twinshock class on the c/b line  )

I also proposed an aircooled mono class for this year and got zero response. Any takers? If you build it we'll give you a class to ride it in.

Looking for constructive suggestions. Post them here or start a new thread, I'll find it.
Rob

Rob.
Sorry I missed the Trial.

What about a Twinshock class with an age penalty like Greybeard but use the bikes age not the riders or something similar.
