I'm thinking of going to WA next year for the Aussie C/Ships.
Any idea's, suggestions, advice about getting bikes to and from WA.
I'm not keen on doing the drive and want to transport them over.
Has anybody out there boxed bikes up and sent them?
Who did you use?
What drama's did you have?
Somebody suggested sending them by train.
Is there anyone in the Sydney / Canberra area thinking of going over & has extra space on their trailer?
I'm more than happy to pay for the previlidge.
Is there anyone with a truck that would be keen to take a heap of bikes over and back?
I'm sure you would get plenty of takers. Get enough bikes on board & charge accordingly you could end up having all your fuel paid for.
I know September next year is a long way off, but by starting this topic early we may get enough interest to hire a full truck load or a mega deal from a freight company.
Looking forward to hearing back from anyone.
Cheers,
Gary Boniface.

Re: Getting bikes to WA & back
I got a rough quote from these guys http://www.auto-logistics.com.au to transport bikes from Perth to Brisbane.
Depot to Depot it was roughly $750 per bike (one-way). Don't know if that's good or not, I only got one quote and decided buying bikes from WA would be an expensive exercise.
Oh, just to let you know..... I emailed these guys for a quote and now I get weekly junk email telling me about their latest deals.
Hope that helps, or gives you an idea on pricing anyway.

Re: Getting bikes to WA & back
Hi Garry
I am looking into sending a container - either a 20 or 40 depending on takers. It will be at Pacific park the weekend proir to the event . It will be shipped directly to the event site. Packed again the day after the titles ( or at the end of the day) and shipped back to PP. We can ship bikes, tools, boxes, gear bags etc.
Just please let us know at The Hell Team roughly want you want shipped and we can quote you a price.

Subject to leg recovery, Team Bennett is quite keen to visit WA.
Paul's setup sounds very efficient.
