Ty 175

Hi guys, my kick start doesn't spring back or return to position what causes that is there a spring and if so what part is it or number? How do I fix this ?also am after a battery to suit do they still make them. To fit a 78 ty?

That is usually the travel stop slipping on the shaft which is a pretty common thing to happen with TY175s. The new shaft you need is probably available from Yamaha dealers. Depending on what Yamaha shop you try they might be helpful, or they might just look at you in stunned silence because it is an old bike. You might have to buy from a specialist TY parts supplier like John Cane in the UK. I suggest you have a look at what is wrong inside before you order anything in case it is something other than that wrong.
Try battery world for a battery. Take the battery box along to make sure you get one that fits inside. It's probably a standard size battery.
