And thanks also from me.......

Its probably not the answer I was hoping for, but at least it removes doubt, and also clears up the other question I had also wondered about, being whether any of the classic rules applied to post classic. The way I read it it didn't seem to, but obviously I was wrong.

I may have to follow my original plan and upgrade to a larger bike, rather than try to make the 175 able to carry me around better than it already does.

Good subject brought up here for the postclassic class.
I have seen several of the flatslides used on postclassic and was not sure on legallity??
I now have been told that there were flatslides availible and used pre 86... Sorry for spelling but they tell me an electron carby was used which had a clear plastic bowl and was flatslide?
any thoughts?

Yes the Lectron flat slide carby was available from the US and was used on MX and enduro bikes. I stopped riding trials for a few years starting about 1981 so may have missed seeing Lectrons used here on trials bikes.
At least one enduro bike back then had them as standard fitment - was it the ROKON maybe?
You might get some useful info on Lectrons from the people on the VMX forum as I think there are a few Lectrons in use in Vintage MX circles.
