Hi, Thanks JC1 and David. Was not sure 52mm , 25mm was an exact measurement from my callipers and due to state of bearing could not measure any thickness. I'll go with 16mm. Pyramid parts look to have a steering head bearing set upper 15mm and bottom 16mm. cheers Ross

hi, progress slow while i wait for steering bearings. Really like the white frame :D . also white inner rear mudguard is a replacement as the old one was rotted through in several places. Black footpegs stand out. In the background the mudguards are in a sorry state (front one cracked and poorly repaired, both very discoloured, rear guard with lots of black paint overspray). Need to source replacements ???. Cheers Ross

Gonelli guards fit OK with a bit of thought but the Fred and Deb replica KT guards look much better in my opinion. Not sure about white guards on your bike though?

Hi, thanks for the reply David. Last time i spoke to fred (Email) he said the guy who had done his fibreglassing (side covers and mudguards) for the last 20 years had retired and he was still looking for a replacement. Good news, steering head bearings have arrived but are 16.5mm thick instead of 16mm. Oh well just have to press them in and see what happens. Cheers Ross

I just bought new front and rear guards from Fred and they smelled pretty fresh so maybe Fred found a new builder. Fred also has a new batch of carby to airbox hoses

Hi, Sold on Ebay in the last month: NOS side cover US$180 and NOS 52 tooth rear sprocket US$450. KT250's must be worth a lot of money :mrgreen: cheers Ross

Hi, finally had some time to continue with rebuild. Fred came good for the mudguards and is in process of fabricating sidecovers. ( seen via ebay 2 original sidecovers for US$450).Not too happy with upper steering head bearing, outer bearing shell banged all the way home but bearing protrudes further than original ball bearing and reduces amount of thread on steering stem that can be used :( . Trying to fit cables and will simplify wiring since there are no lights. Cheers Ross

You are doing a good job of your KT250 project and have just picked up the KT250 i got off e-bay and when i get time i will start to strip her down ready for a overhaul .

I like your white frame so i might do mine the same as both Honda's i have will have white frames once i finish the TLR so if i get stuck with any problems on the build i know were to come :wink:

Look forward to seeing the finished bike as its one of the best looking twinshock bikes

Hi , been a bit distracted lately but have exhaust back on bike. Had to find brake cable adjuster (fits into bracket on left hand fork). Seat is away getting redone and hose clamp to air filter is in the mail. Waiting on the side covers to be fabricated, and then start to think about tank/sidecover paint 8) . So what distracted me, my next project ( what a mess =D> ) . More photo's of KT to follow. Cheers Ross
