Here is the most recent addition to my shed that has been purchased to fill the hole left after the sale of my KT. While the beast is not quite competition ready, it will be very "retro cool" in the pit area. It is a fully road registerable 1976 Yamaha Chappy 2 speed automatic plus high and low range powered by 72cc two stroke.

Hi David, Not only is it a twinshock but it may well be my secret weapon at Brooweena 2011!!! I will take some better photos on the weekend. Most of the Yamaha Chappys were sold in Asia as commuters and as I understand it not that many came to Australia. Unfortunately I don't know anything of the history of the bike other than the owners manual that came with it has a note on it that it was first registered in Aust in September 1976. Serial number is 000846. A friend of mine came across it when buying another bike and I managed to talk him into selling it to me. Cheers Lindsay

HI, have just finished a tidy up of my mini majesty 175 for the Mick Andrews tour of NZ in March next year. Looks like i will also have it at the 2011 champs in South Aust, last time was 2005 in QLD so well overdue!

Sorry for delay in reply, I have been down to Byron Bay to collect a complete and original TY250A (That only needs a couple of hundred hours work to be concourse!) The TLR runs nicely with straight thru exhaust. Just had a full service and tune up done by Gladstone Honda (points and valve settings way out) and now is fantastic. Sounds a bit like a new Montesa 4RT! A bit 'barky' under quick throttle, and was advised mid range power may suffer from no mid 'expansion box' but I can't notice it. Much easier now to pop front wheel up compared to when I first rode bike in original config. Have since gone back to 11/42 gearing as 51 sprocket shown in pics was just a bit too low! Mid way through a nice little TLR200 resto,...thinking about where to start on the TY250A and 'fending off' (LOL) offers of another TLR250 and two other TY250's that have come out of left field from local mates! OMG! I'm turning into another David Lahey!!..ah, no offense David...thats a good thing!

There will be a couple of other "new" bikes there as well - Ray with his newly-acquired Suzuki RL250 and Timothy has his own KT250 now.

Lots of OSSA pictures in Museums so I thought I'd better put one up actually being ridden at a Trial - this was one of my first junior trials in early 80's in South East UK. Bike was a 1980 Ossa 250. My mate alongside was riding a Cota 172. Fantic Twinshocks were the bike to be seen on back then.
