Here in SA we run most events as half day ride half day observe. We are trying to increase the number of all day rides but we find that most riders will still only get 40 sections in their day unless the sections are short or the loop is small.

I think there’s another huge benefit here too… the usual suspects (and what would we do without them) i.e. wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, sons daughters and mates get a well earned break from the ‘press gang' which means more spectators, just what the sport needs for healthy growth – it’s got to worth a try – what do we need to do to get it happening in NSW/ACT, I’m happy to get involved if I can contribute…

The entry fee at most (NSW) club days is $25 - $30.
Due to insurance, MCNSW permits & all the other costs involved I would think that most Clubs would only be receiving less than $5 for Club profit. No problem with that.
This is currently for a full day ride.
I have yet to hear of a protest over scoring using the buddy system.
How do the Club's that run ride / observe construct their entry fee? The permits & insurance will not change.

Same all over???

Let's face it guys it is the same all over but different!

During the season there are enough trials to keep us all busy... and that is the problem!!

If I rode MX I could choose between a number of clubs and a number of events and a number of championships in which I could compete. We have a season, a calender and that is that! If you don't like the way a particular club sets sections and choose not to ride them or you don't want to drive a particular direction you have half the season vanish!

I'm happy to look at answers and ideas but the fact is we need to get at least part of mototrials more mainstream or have more people involved.

I have just picked up a bike that has been in Victorian bike shops for the past 6 months. The bike shops all tell me the young ones (12-17) take the most interest and want to know more. Just the same as me when I was young!!! I bought a trailbike and it took 30 years to get me back!

We need to promote a young and vibrant sport...........

I'll leave it there :(
