Loving the thread and then came across your RL it just gets better, I am dropping the engine out of the spare Rl tomorrow and plan to have the Kt ready to go to powder coat at the same time.... Ill highjack your thread a bit and throw in a few photos and updates as I go since we seem to be on the same page...

Hi , Got green framed KT250 stripped down. Usual problems: mounting brackets missing from frame, Split seem on exhaust header, collapsed bottom steering bearing, badly bent handlebars. Black painted petrol tank seemed a bit heavy so i weighed both it and another green KT tank. Black tank has an extra 1.2 kg of bog  Missing seat a worry. oh well its a hobby. Cheers Ross

hi, more on the KT strip down. As mentioned elsewhere, the front forks are 36mm diameter and not original KT250 parts :x . Had to replace one of the long fork springs as it was broken and add extra spacers . Also rear wheel is not original ( DiD 2.15 x 18 rim and 4.10 x 18 tyre instead of DiD 1.85 x 18 rim and 4.00 x 18 tyre). Had noticed rear wheel was a bit wobbly and now find original rear axle (approx 15mm dia) and wheel bearings in bogus wheel not really compatible (internal diameter approx 19mm) :( . Fun. Cheers Ross
