Kawasaki KX ('97-'07) footpegs fit with basic home handyman mods, when fitted with some Ossa Engineering return springs the result is better then I'd hoped for.

Rod did you need to reshape the kickstart to use those pegs?

David,
Thank you for posting up this process. I have just found out that one of the '

twins' tanks leaks around the very back of the tank near the seat. Only a slight leak, but I will need to put a coating inside. So before a paint job, I'll be heading to a marine shop tomorrow.

I probably should have said,' happy with the result except for having to fold up the footpeg for starting'.
Modifying the kick start lever is something I might look into.

Hi Chippy,
This Caswell stuff is available from Vic. I haven't used it yet but have read on forums that it's OK. About $75 + postage.

Rod,
After doing some more research, I have found KBS Coatings do a motorcycle repair coating kit and have agents around Brisbane and Ipswich. They appear to have a very good product and the kit is $60. I'll have enough to do a few tanks as the small kit will do tanks up to 20 litres....
I will probably buy a kit today.

My MAR mk2 has 14mm top shock mount posts and 12mm bottom posts, is that standard ? Don Newell, who sells the Falcon shocks tells me that 12mm top and bottom is the norm for the

MAR. Maybe my top mounts have been modified by a previous owner but all the welds around these posts look original, it's got me stumped!
Next time anyone has a shock off their

and a set of verniers handy could you measure the post diameters please and let me know of your findings. Don suggested he could drill out the top rubbers/bushes to 14mm to make them fit, but if I'm going to fork out nearly $400 for a new set of Falcons I want them to fit straight on with no modifications.

My frame is a 1974/75 Explorer and the top mounts are bigger diameter than the bottom mounts. I bought steel-bodied trial classic 360mm Falcons and drilled the top end bushes bigger. Yes bottom mounts are 12mm.
Tops probably 14mm but have not measured them since drilling them out 8 years ago and don't remember. Will measure tomorrow if no-one else answers.
Sounds like Falcons from Don have come down in price since 8 years ago

Your a champ David, thanks for reply. $395 Don tells me. I'm going to take the bike to him on Monday and we'll see how things fit, or don't fit.
