Honda TLR200 twinshock vs Yamaha TY250R Mono

Post by ito »

Hi Guys,

I am new for trials. I have got Beta Techno recently.

Before I got Beta,I was thinking TLR200 or TY250R Mono.

Which is better for competition use?

Because I often see that TLR200 foot rest should be lower and backward and head angle should be ....

TLR200 looks more beautiful than TY250R Mono for me due to tank shape and side covers.

Depends on how well each is set up and what the rider is accustomed to riding
relax, nothing is under control

When I start riding Beta and get well,I would like to get both used HONDA&YAMAHA.
They are not expensive in used market though condition is so so.
And I will tell both feature.
Thanks

I would say that the only thing that is better about the Honda is its looks, in ALL other respects the Yamaha is a far better bike, far better steering/handling, better evrything really, the Honda needs alot of work to get anywhere near as good as the Yamaha is in stock condition.
I'd also go as far to say that the Yam is more tolerant of abuse than the Honda, unless you forget to put oil in the petrol... Farmers in the UK ended up with them to chase dairy cattle after all the new water cooled bikes took over,if a bike will tolerate a farmer it must be good.
Never had a 200, but I bought a brand new TLR250 in 1986, it was not well made nor easy to ride. Then in 1988 I bought an RTL 250,couldn't get on with that either, traded it for an 85 TY250R, really enjoyed it,couldn't break it either.

It is very interesting review about TLR200 and TY250R.

Some riders want to ride her on road as a daily bike in Japan.
I am thinking TLR200 daily commuting bike if I got her.
And I am going to customize with various aftermarket parts.
As I could find a lot of aftermarket parts like FRP fuel tank, fenders and fat handlebar in UK.

But I have to repair my Beta.
She was so old that it takes some time to repair not to cost much for repair.
