Hi, I have a recently bought a 74 Ty250 that I’m looking at going in some comps with it next year (hopefully).
I began looking at the regs etc and noted that a guard where the sprocket/chain meets looks to be required for scrutineering. I have the front sprocket area covered with the casing but not the rear end as yet.
Does anyone here make any of these? Or have any leads? I am on the Central Coast NSW.
I was looking at making one myself using the previous posts from about 2011 on the forum but mine would probably look average at best. Also the engineering place in Newcastle in the post from 2011 who was mentioned seems to have permanently closed unfortunately.
FYI The automated chain oiler is completely removed on my bike so there is plenty of space to attach one on from the swing arm.
I have looked at TYTrials in the UK and they seem to have a Majesty style chain guard but not sure if it will fit mine and was hoping to avoid purchasing from overseas due to VAT costs.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Jeremy

Re: 74 TY250a shark fin chain guard protector
An easy fix for this is to weld a tab onto the swingarm which will accept the sharkfin of a modern bike.
That way when you break it, its cheap an easy to get a replacement.
all have the chain on the left hand side like the TY.
