Queensland Twinshock Series

Post by David Lahey »

Thanks for the update Peter

What a great concept to have a 4 stroke vs 2 stroke battle raging in our Twinshock Series. You certainly know how to get my attention at least.

While on the topic of two stroke twinshocks in general and Yamaha TYs in particular, did you realise that if it wasn't for we dedicated Yamaha TY riders, there would be no raw material for the trophy being created by Dan? As you well know, Honda pistons last forever (well 20 years at least in the case of TLRs) so if it wasn't for Yamaha TYs, we would end up with a trophy with much less value and significance. Being made of Yamaha piston metal is a wonderful idea. Thankyou Dan and Rob. Let me know of you need any more old Yamaha pistons and I will take down our Yamaha piston wind chimes and bring a few along for you to make better use of them.
By the way I had my heart set on riding the Cota 348 this weekend but the Yamaha/Honda challenge thing may be just a bit too tempting to miss out on.

Qld Twinshock Series

Post by Fraser »

Stu,

The Qld Twinshock Series is run over the open and inter club trials held between the Qld Titles in June and the famous WDTC Twin Shock & Classic Masters held at Conondale in late Oct early November.

The Twinshock Series is run over 4 to 5 trials and rewards consistency. The Qld Titles is a 2 day event and the Qld Masters a 1 day event.

In one year you can ride in the Twinshock Titles, the Twinshock Series and the Twinshock Masters all for the $1,000 price tag on most twinshock bikes. If you have a competive pre 65 bike you can also ride in the Qld Classic Series (pre 65) which is run over the trials up to the Qld Titles.

All of the trials are held around SE Qld except for Gladstone in early July.
